Talented West Australian Heeza Phoenix has been added into the mix for the Australian Guineas in February as connections are set to travel the promising three year old.
Talented West Australian three year old Heeza Phoenix was seen galloping between races at Ascot on Wednesday and trainer Mitchell Pateman has suggested to local media that the son of Grunt is being set for a Victorian trip for the upcoming Autumn Carnival.
The runner up in the West Australian Guineas behind King Of Light who has had four starts is likely to resume on January 24th at Ascot with the Scenic Blast Stakes at 1200m a possible kick off point. On the same card is a Ratings 72+ 1200m Handicap and also a 3yo only contest over 1000m.
It’s expected post that he will come to Melbourne with the Autum Stakes (1400m, G2 for 3yo’s at Caulfield on 7/2)Β and also the C.S Hayes Stakes (1400m, G3 at Flemington on 14/2) on the radar as his first up run before a possible tilt at the Group 1 Australian Guineas at Flemington on February 28th.
Other horses likely to be set on an Australian Guineas path are Victoria Derby winner Observer, Sandown Guineas winner Sheza Alibi and Caulfield Guineas runner up Planet Red.
