It’s taken longer than anticipated to get Snow God to the races, but trainer David Harrison is certain the wait will be worth it.

The Playing God three-year-old steps out for his first official outing at Ascot on Wednesday and expectations are high he will make an impression on debut.

Snow God has looked sharp in trials, winning a Lark Hill heat by three lengths two weeks back in readiness for the Liberties Insurance Maiden (1000m).

Snow God, who has consolidated Tabtouch favouritism, meets a field of eight rivals and from barrier six will he’ll be in the hands of Joe Azzopardi

Punters are right behind Snow God to deliver first up with the gelding shortening to $1.95 after he opened at $2.20 on Tuesday.

David Harrison is confident Snow God can measure up on debut and make the best possible start to his racing career.

“He goes super this horse,” Harrison said on Tabradio.

“He had a broken neck and that’s why he didn’t go through the sales.

“He was in the book but couldn’t get there because he had a broken bone in his neck.

“That’s why he’s taken so long to get to the races.

“But he’s grown to a lovely horse and you’ll like him when you see him.”

Harrison is equally bullish about the prospects of Riveting Rosie who can launch the day on a positive note for the stable in the opening race.

The Magnus filly stamped herself as one to watch after running way to an impressive win on debut at Pinjarra over 1300m.

Harrison said Riveting Rosie did everything right and he rates her chances of going back-to-back in the MCA Polytrack Handicap (1400m) highly.

“Well, she can’t do anymore than what she did,” Harrison said.

“She won very well first up and gets an extra 100m.

“I know small fields can be run very funny, but she looks like she’s going to be hard to beat for sure.”

Riveting Rosie, a $70,000 Magic Millions yearling, is one of five combatants and jumps from barrier two for Azzopardi.

She’s $3.20 with Tabtouch, behind $2.20 favourite, Precious God.

Quagmire is $4, Who Saz Yes $8 and Viva Marconi the $18 outsider.
