After a last-place finish in the Group 1 Tarzino Trophy, Group One winner She’s Licketysplit is retiring from racing to enter the breeding barn.
Trained by Andrew Forsman, she first gained prominence with a Group One win in the Group 1 Sistema Stakes, among other accolades.
“Following Saturday, we decided as a group that she has nothing left to prove and it is that prime time to breed,” said owner Nick Hewson.
Bred and raced by Hewson and Dean Hawkins, the mare was a long-term project for the pair, who have been friends since their teens.
“Sheโs been a massive thrill and we have raced her with some really good people,” Hewson added.
She’s Licketysplit will be served by nine-time Group One winner Anamoe at Darley.
The team also has high hopes for her siblings, including half-sister Full Tilt.
