Magnum Park has confirmed Group 1-winning stallion Sizzling will stand in Tasmania for the upcoming breeding season.
The son of champion sire Snitzel joins the state’s stallion ranks after previously standing at Newgate and Riverdene Studs.
Out of the General Nediym mare Admirelle, Sizzling was a top-class juvenile performer, highlighted by victory in the Group 1 JJ Atkins, formerly known as the TJ Smith Stakes.
At stud, Sizzling has produced 215 individual winners, including two stakes winners, with his progeny earning more than $20 million on the track.
Magnum Park principal Alexis Beadman said the farm had long admired the stallion and viewed his arrival as an important addition for Tasmanian breeders.
“We’ve admired Sizzling for a long time,” Beadman said.
“He was an outstanding racehorse with genuine speed and toughness, and we believe he offers something very appealing for local breeders.”
“In addition to his race record and pedigree, he’s an impressive physical individual with strength, quality and athleticism, and he has settled in very well since arriving.”
Details surrounding Sizzling’s service fee and booking arrangements are expected to be released in the near future.
The move adds further depth to Tasmania’s breeding landscape as local operations continue to invest in proven stallion talent.
