Sprinting veteran Grand Duels has continued his winning run following his win in the Listed Kensington Stakes at Flemington.
The 7 year old gelding is next expected to target the Group One Oakleigh Plate on Blue Diamond Stakes Day.
Starting at $6, Grand Duels carried 59.5kg, sat towards the rear of the main body of the field before finishing hard and winning by a neck.
Warm Love was no match for Grand Duels’ finishing burst and hung on for second with Sydney-sider Cardinal Virtue storming home, a nose back in third.
Grand Duels has made it 4 wins from 5 starts this preparation after enduring a win less run that spanned 20 runs over 25 months.
Meanwhile the Robbie Griffiths-trained Danzylum also began a winning streak yesterdays taking out the $100,000 Listed Barton Stakes at Caulfield.
Much like his win at Flemington, Danzylum lead from start to finish winning by 2 lengths.
Whilst Western Australian stayer Scenic Shot looks to be progressing well towards the Australian Cup in March.
Finishing 5th in the Barton Stakes, Scenic Shot ran on from the rear of the field and looks to be travelling nicely towards the Australian Cup.
