Secure, a last-start Saturday placegetter in Sydney and a well-bred Snitzel gelding out of Response, is set to continue his racing career in Hong Kong.
A brother to Golden Slipper winner Estijaab, Secure was knocked down for $500,000 during Wednesday’s Inglis Digital sale, making him the highest-priced lot of the session. The buyer was CY Wong, who has placed the three-year-old in the care of Hong Kong trainer Manfred Man.
Previously trained by Chris Waller and raced by Tony Fung Investments and Kia Ora Stud, Secure fetched $1.4 million as a yearling and has notched two wins from six starts, most recently finishing second over 1300m at Randwick.
Another Waller-trained runner, Chandler—a three-year-old colt by I Am Invincible and also raced by Kia Ora and TFI—was the second most expensive lot, going for $305,000 to So Bloodstock, also based in Hong Kong.
As Secure heads to Hong Kong, Australian punters can still follow top-class racing action and markets through the best betting sites in Australia.
