Last years Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside has been retired after a relatively disappointing spring campaign.
Newgate Farm’s Henry Field confirmed that the Richard and Michael Freedman-trained colt had run his last race after the boom colt failed to fire in the Spring running fifth in the Domenico Stakes and the Run To The Rose.
“He had a few problems with his feet late in the spring so we just thought he has done his job,” Field said.
“He won a Golden Slipper and he is by Extreme Choice, so we thought he had no more to prove.
“We will get him back to the farm and let him let down for the season.
“If you’ve got a Golden Slipper winner by Extreme Choice I think you have to be confident they are going to make the grade as a stallion and he will be very well supported.”
Stay Inside defeated Godolphin duo Anamoe and Ingratiating in the Golden Slipper.
