The prospect of upcoming oppressive conditions has prompted trainer Gerald Ryan to take Fournette to Warwick Farm rather than try for a bigger prize at Randwick.

The filly will run in a 1600m-benchmark 79 on Wednesday with Tim Clark to ride as she tries to improve on her last-start fourth at Randwick on New Year’s Day.

She is also among nominations for Saturday’s 1600m-benchmark 80 event against her own sex.

“It looks like being hot on Saturday so she’ll go to the races on Wednesday when it’s a bit cooler,” Ryan said.

“She’s come through her last run well.”

Fournette has been to the races 10 times, winning three and running second once.

Her last win came at Goulburn on November 26 when she beat the well-performed Godolphin filly Savatiano and Bye See, both of whom have since won at Randwick.

Ryan will also saddle Star Appearance for his first start since August, 2016.

The gelding put together two wins at Kembla Grange before coming out of that Wyong race lame.

He will be ridden on Wednesday by stable apprentice James Innes Jr.

Local trainer Gary Portelli will have three runners at his home track meeting with I Can Rock and Moccasin Miss to come up against each other over 1000 metres.

“Moccasin Miss had no luck last start and just didn’t get a crack at them in the straight,” Portelli said.

“I Can Rock didn’t jump well and then got checked last time so hopefully he can do better.”

Moccasin Miss was shading Akasaki for favouritism on Tuesday with the pair at $4.20 and $4.40 respectively with I Can Rock at $5.50.

Portelli will also have Nicci’s Gold competing over 1400m with the filly unlucky at her most recent start when she hit the rail in the straight when second to Wooshka at Canterbury.

The John Thompson-trained Kissing Game is the dominant $2.20 favourite after beating Dinnigan on December 15 before running second to Sasso Corbaro 15 days later.

Dinnigan ran second to Pierata in the Group Three Vo Rogue Plate before her fourth in Saturday’s Magic Millions Maiden while Sasso Corbaro was a solid sixth in the Magic Millions Guineas, also won by Pierata.
