Saturday’s Group One Surround Stakes winner Nakeeta Jane and runner up Fundamentalist could back-up this week and take on star colt The Autumn Sun in the Randwick Guineas over the mile.
Nakeeta Jane finished over the top of the rest of the field to score an impressive win in Saturday’s Surround Stakes and trainer Mark Newnham is seriously considering backing up the star filly as is David Hayes with runner-up Fundamentalist in this weekends Group One Randwick Guineas where they will meet The Autumn Sun.
The Autumn Sun dominates all-in Randwick Guineas markets as the $1.50 favourite although that may come under pressure if Nakeeta Jane and Fundamentalist back-up in the race.
