Expressions of interest are now open for the position of head trainer at Domeland, the prominent private racing operation based on the NSW Central Coast.
Established by Chinese businessman YP Cheng—best known for building his fortune manufacturing McDonald’s Happy Meal toys—Domeland has built a strong presence in the Australian racing scene over the past several years.
Sara Ryan, who has guided the Domeland stable since 2021, will continue in the role through the conclusion of the Queensland Winter Carnival before transitioning into public training from her new base at Wyong.
The incoming head trainer will take responsibility for Domeland’s expansive 260-acre Kulnura property, which includes a 3000-metre grass track, as well as the operation’s 35 boxes at Wyong.
The role involves overseeing both training facilities and working with what Domeland describes as a “dedicated team focused on long-term achievement”.
In its advertisement for the role, Domeland has outlined the ideal candidate as someone with significant experience in Australia or abroad, expertise in race programming, horse welfare, and strong bloodstock skills including yearling selection and breeding management.
The new appointment comes at a time when Australian racing continues to grow in global visibility, with the right candidate set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of the Domeland brand on and off the track.
