The rider is on a short-term contract with the Japan Racing Association and has another month to go.
Normcore had a neck to spare over Primo Scene, a four-year-old daughter of Australian Group One-winning filly Mosheen.
“It’s a big thrill,” Lane told Japanese media through an interpreter.
“I’ve been very privileged to be given the contract by the JRA and it’s a big thrill with my first Group One win outside Australia.
“I’m very happy.”
Lane’s other big wins this season include the Golden Slipper on Godolphin filly Kiamichi.
