Top Sydney jockey Corey Brown has been booked to ride Shoot Out in two of his three remaining races this spring.

Shoot Out was to have been ridden by regular jockey Stathi Katsidis, but sadly Katsidis passed away in his Brisbane home early this morning.
Brown has been booked for Saturday’s Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) as well as for Saturday week’s Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m).
He will have first refusal for the ride in the Melbourne Cup the following Tuesday.
Brown had been in the mix to ride 2008 Melbourne Cup runner up Bauer in this year’s edition of the race, but it is likely that he will be aboard Shoot Out.
