Corey Brown has been ruled out of Saturday’s Chipping Norton Stakes day after being injured at the Randwick barrier trials on Friday.
Brown had just mounted an unraced three-year-old in the tie-up stalls area ahead of the final trial of the morning when the filly took fright, reared and flipped over.
The top jockey was complaining of pain in his chest, ribs, shoulder and back and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for tests.
He was set to ride the David Payne-trained Centennial Park in the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) as well as Parables in the Group Two Surround Stakes (1400m) in a strong book of rides for the Warwick Farm meeting.
