Sydney jockey Jason Collett has escaped injury following a fall during Saturday’s $1 million Queensland Magic Millions Subzero (2200m) at the Gold Coast.
Collett was aboard Private Legacy when the incident occurred after the field entered the main straight, with the gelding weakening after leading and being crowded by runners closing from behind.
The fall happened near the barriers, prompting immediate action from on-course staff as barrier attendants rushed to assist the senior rider.
Medical personnel were quickly on the scene and, fortunately, Collett was able to get to his feet and walk away from the incident.
Private Legacy was also unharmed in the incident and was quickly back on his feet before being escorted safely to the race day stalls.
For punters following the race, updated markets and coverage are available through leading Australian betting platforms.
The incident brought an anxious moment to the meeting, but officials confirmed that both horse and rider emerged without serious injury.
