Caulfield’s new Heath track passed its first major test with flying colours as it hosted its inaugural race meeting, garnering praise from both jockeys and officials.
“It raced actually really well,” remarked jockey Ben Allen, who made history by clinching the first win on Superconstellation.
Another winning jockey, Blake Shinn, applauded the track, likening its quality to that of other elite metropolitan venues.
“It rides really well,” Shinn affirmed, offering full credit to the track’s creators.
Melbourne Racing Club’s Jake Norton echoed the sentiment, expressing satisfaction with the track’s fairness and performance.
“We’ve had winners come from settling in all various parts of the field,” Norton noted, highlighting the track’s versatility.
With positive feedback extending to the new facilities, including the mounting yard and horse stalls, Caulfield is poised for continued success as it prepares for its next race meeting on April 17.
