Little Brose, the winner of the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, is set to continue his racing career in Hong Kong, as confirmed by his new trainer, David Hayes.
The three-year-old colt, a son of Per Incanto, will be transferred to Hong Kong by the end of this year, eyeing a prosperous four-year-old season.
Hayes intends to keep Little Brose as a colt, with plans to return him to Australia for stud duties if he performs well in Hong Kong.
The decision to move Little Brose follows his notable victory in the Blue Diamond Stakes in February and subsequent midfield performance in the Golden Slipper.
Despite promising runs in his early three-year-old races in Melbourne, he finished eighth in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas.
Hayes’ sons, Ben and JD, had been striving to keep the horse in Australia. Initially, Hong Kong-based owner Peter Young had purchased Little Brose to race in Hong Kong but agreed to let him stay in Australia for a chance at the Blue Diamond under Hayes’ sons.
However, now Hayes senior is pleased to welcome Little Brose to his Hong Kong stable, expecting him to adapt well to races ranging from 1000 to 1600 meters in Hong Kong.
