The race for Melbourne’s 2024–25 jockeys’ premiership heats up again on Wednesday, with both Blake Shinn and Craig Williams set to ride at Sandown.
Shinn currently leads the title chase with 67 wins, eight ahead of Williams on 59, with just seven metro meetings remaining in the season.
Wednesday marks Shinn’s return from a foot injury and his first Melbourne appearance since May 21.
Williams, meanwhile, returned from suspension on Sunday at Sale, but Sandown will be his first city meeting since a double at Flemington on June 21.
Shinn has five bookings at Sandown, while Williams is set for a busy day with seven rides across the eight-race card.
With the premiership still up for grabs, the stage is set for a thrilling final stretch.
