In a true show of confidence, trainer Bjorn Baker has backed his Group 1 star Overpass by purchasing a share in the $10 million earner during this week’s Inglis online sale.
A five per cent ownership stake in Overpass was up for grabs, with Baker’s own Bjorn Baker Racing stepping in with a winning bid of $30,000, effectively valuing the accomplished gelding at $600,000.
Considering the seven-year-old’s stellar resume, the investment could prove to be a masterstroke. In the 2022-23 season alone, Overpass banked around $3 million, backing that up with another $3.7 million the following year. So far in the current season, he’s already earned approximately $2.7 million.
With 10 wins from 32 starts, including victories in the Winterbottom Stakes and the lucrative The Quokka, Overpass has amassed more than $10.5 million in total prizemoney.
Punters can follow Overpass and place their bets on his upcoming runs through leading Australian betting sites.
