In a gala event in Perth, the 2022/23 Australian Racehorse of the Year title was bestowed upon Anamoe, a distinguished nine-time Group 1 winner.
Owned by Godolphin and trained by James Cummings, Anamoe triumphed over rivals Mr Brightside and Alligator Blood.
His Cox Plate victory was highlighted as a defining moment, with Cummings expressing heartfelt admiration for the champion.
While reminiscing about Anamoe, Cummings also emphasised the ongoing quest for new talent in horse racing.
The evening saw other notable accolades: Giga Kick, under Clayton Douglas, clinched the Champion Sprinter title; Gold Trip was crowned Champion Stayer for his Melbourne Cup victory; Stern Idol was named Champion Jumper; and I Am Invincible received the Champion Sire award.
In a remarkable season, Chris Waller and his long-time rider James McDonald were honoured as Champion Group 1 Trainer and Jockey, respectively.
