Talented four year old mare ‘About Ready’ bounced back to form yesterday, comprehensively winning the $30,000 Betfair Handicap at Betfair Park.
After not handling the heavy track last start at Moonee Valley, About Ready seemed to relish being back on top of the ground, with Jockey Damien Oliver agreeing.
“I have only ridden her twice and she definitely feels good on top of the ground”.
Trainer Mick Price believes he’s found the secret to About Ready, apart from keeping her on dry tracks.
“I’ll keep her on light work duties and back her races together,” he also added, “She also has a few back issues which we have to stay on top of.”
A daughter of ‘More than Ready’, it seems likely that Price will be looking to find some black type to add to her already impressive portfolio.
About Ready has won four races from just nine starts and has won in excess of $130,000.
