Group 2 winner Too Darn Lizzie will race on under the training of Ciaron Maher after being purchased for $2.4 million at the recent Inglis Chairman’s Sale. The mare will now carry the familiar bottle green and white silks of Yulong.
The talented daughter of Too Darn Hot, who previously raced under Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, was a standout purchase at the elite sale. She’s won two of her 12 starts, most notably the Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude, and also placed in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas during the spring carnival.
Her dam, Enbihaar, was also secured at the Chairman’s Sale for $1.6 million by Yulong-related buyer Zhao Zhijun, suggesting Too Darn Lizzie is destined to eventually join the Yulong broodmare band following the next phase of her racing career.
Also joining the Maher stable out of the sale is talented sprinter She Dances. Formerly trained by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, the Street Boss mare was acquired for $775,000 by David Redvers and Widden and will now race in the colours of Qatar Racing.
