Racing channel TVN will be shut down as soon as the end of the month after NSW and Victorian shareholders of the broadcaster agreed to dissolve the board.
Racing NSW will now be solely shown on Sky Racing whilst for feature carnivals it will also likely to be aired by Free To Air – Channel 7.
Victorian racing is still in discussion with interest being shown from channel 7 and corporate bookmakers whilst it will be also shown on SkyRacing with an additional premium channel.
It has been reported in the Sydney Morning Herald that all TVN staff will be paid in excess of their entitlements when the channel closes, but no promises of continued employment will be promised.
There is no word on what will happen with TVN’s online service ‘RacingNetwork’

Plenty of followers aren’t happy, with TVN providing arguably the most in depth look into specific meetings. Some responses to the news:

Gutted that @TVNTVN is finalizing. The programs, info & broadcasting they provide is great for punters & those who love the sport of racing.
