It’s only the second day of the year but we may have just witnessed what will be the worst beat of the year.
Overnight at Riyadh the well tried at odds runner Mohit Albahr was 10 lengths ahead of all other runners in the race with 200m to go before deciding to pull up just before the line and getting rolled in the last few strides to run fourth.
Online bookmakers favourite Raji Al Khalediah was the eventual winner of the race.
