The obvious answer is yes….2nd home should have been awarded the race.
So right result.
But at Emerald races in Qld today, the leader (Leo’s Den) was wayward late, and it did dramatically shy away from the winning post in spectacular fashion, just when the horse in 2nd spot (Apparently Not) launched her charge.
He completely smashed her. The check was about the worst ever seen on a racetrack and when you’ve watched it several times, you still wonder how the hell everything stayed on their feet.
The runner-up was awarded the race after a protest.
But should she have been?
Watch closely. Was she going to get the leader by the time they hit the line?
