Victoria Racing Club (VRC) Chairman Mr Michael Burn today announced VRC Treasurer Mr Tim Poole has decided to step down from the VRC Board, to spend more time with his family and concentrate on other growing business interests.
Mr Burn thanked Mr Poole for his valuable contribution to the Club.
“Tim has been a terrific contributor as a board member for eight years, having joined the Board in 2006. I know that the board and management alike have enjoyed working with him. Tim can justifiably be very proud of his contribution to the VRC.
“We all wish Tim well and look forward to seeing him back at Flemington as an enthusiastic VRC member,” Mr Burn said.
At various times during his term on the Board, Mr Poole also served as Chairman of the Audit and Risk Management Committee and Chairman of the Masterplan Sub Committee.
Mr Poole thanked everyone at the VRC for their support and friendship and said it has been an honour to work with the Flemington team. Mr Poole wished everyone at the Club good luck for the future.
Mr John O’Rourke has been elected to replace Mr Poole as Treasurer. Mr O’Rourke has been a Director on the Board since December 2011 and is the founding principal of Plenary Group, an international property infrastructure investment company specialising in public-private partnerships.
“I am pleased that John has accepted the role of Treasurer. John has a demonstrated track record of getting results and brings considerable financial and business acumen to the role,” said Mr Burn.
