On March 18th Inglis will host the annual March Thoroughbred Sale from Oaklands Junction in Melbourne.
This years edition of the Throughbred Sale shows a number of racehorses go under the hammer in a bid to rekindle their careers elsewhere or perhaps find a happy home to retire to.
Among the 191 lots on offer, which includes Broodmares, Yearlings and Racehorses are a number of horses from both the Darley and Patinack Farm racing juggernauts.
These horses have, for whatever reason not reached the expectations of trainers or owners or are just looking to relocated to a more suitable home.
Among the nominations is Lot 127, Caplamp, from the Patinack Farm yard who has found some form of late in Adelaide.
He looks to be a hotly contested item when the gelding gets into the sale ring.
Also available for purchase is Lot 150, Raffaello, a winner of 9 of his 44 starts for both Mark Kavanagh and Jim Marconi.
He is a winner at Melbourne metroplotan tracks and amassed over $500,000 in prizemoney.
But Lot 158 is the horse that caught my eye. Keano from the Danny O’Brien stable goes under the hammer and looks to be the horse who will amass the biggest price.
A winner of 6 from 25 starts, this bay horse still has life in him yet and should be another high purchase.
Be sure to make your way out to Inglis at Oaklands Junction, in Melbourne’s Outer-Northwest to immerse yourself in the excitement of racehorse auctions and perhaps pick yourself up a bargain.
