The opening Group 1 feature at Rosehill this Saturday is the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m), a race that looks set to deliver a high-quality contest.
The fillies’ feature over 2000 metres has attracted a strong field and shapes as one of the standout races on the program, with several leading contenders lining up in what promises to be a competitive edition.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2026 Vinery Stud Stakes.
2026 Vinery Stud Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Ohope Wins: Ohope Wins looks a really good prospect for Chris Waller and this Kiwi filly could make a mess of these if she runs up to what she did in NZ before coming this way. Her Derby win was extraordinary, the manner in which she gave them a start and a beating was just unbelievable. Tick over trial was good and despite back to 2000m, back to her own age, she is a clear top seed.
2. Belle Cheval: I find her extremely short. Yes, talented filly, but IMO she’s nowhere near the post code of the level Ohope Wins is at, and IMO was flattered last start in what looked a very weak race. Very keen to oppose.
3. Salty Pearl: Blinkers slapped back on last start in the Platinum Guineas and she made a mess of an ordinary bunch (overall). But, she’s found form, will eat up 2000m and maps to do no work.
4. Panova: Panova was quite good late in the Phar Lap. Back to near last in the run, she was never threatening but I liked the way she kept chasing in defeat behind stablemate Sixties. She’ll love getting to 2000m and commands respect with that sense of timing.
5. After Summer: Just fair in the Kewney and needs to improve too much to trouble these.
6. Long Legs: Think she has been just fair this time in, and yes, front end control, but I think she’s incredibly short in the market.
7. Aisle Two: Was solid without being super in the Kembla Grange Classic and IMO isn’t up to these.
8. Celestial Award: She looks a big price at $151+. Didn’t beat much at Geelong last time but really liked the way she knuckled down when asked to score. Doubt she wins, but she could pinch first four.
9. Stand My Ground: Insane placement here with Stand My Ground but she is a nice filly that was a strong winner first up at Newcastle over the mile, making a sustained run from off speed and was strong to the line in winning. Doubt she wins but can run first four.

2026 Vinery Stud Stakes Speed Map
No real front end pressure outside Long Legs, who gets complete control in front on paper. Celestial Award and Aisle Two maybe could slide forward? Could they give Ohope Wins a dig in the ribs from the wide draw? Wait maybe for a COT or two pre race.
