The first of the majors this Saturday at Rosehill is the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) where Treasurethe Moment stifles betting.

1. Treasurethe Moment: Treasurethe Moment picks herself and really, all things being equal, if she handles racing the Sydney way, she’s a genuine $1.10 chance. She has come back in beast mode in Melbourne, with her two starts/wins being quite breathtaking. Eats up 2000m, has change up speed, can make a sustained run…it all points to her.
2. Movin Out: You’d have to assume this is top seed for Waller given J Mac rides. I don’t think she was there to play in the Phar Lap but was good late, racing like 2000m will suit and wet ground is fine.
3. Powers Of Opal: Powers Of Opal will appreciate 2000m. She was ridden with intent in the Phar Lap but the tempo was an absolute crawl and she just doesn’t have the sprint in the legs to go with them late in the piece behind Lazzura. Like her up in trip and nearing peak fitness, she’s a first four contender.
4. Real Class: I think she is slight overs given does have solid NZ form and her Phar Lap run was a total forgive given it was a barrier trial and she was nearer the inside, so forgive and forget. Better set up here for her and she’ll love 2000m.
5. Declichy Boulevard: Declichy Boulevard has to be given another look and is to be respected after her Phar Lap effort, where she was quite good considering she was back and wide throughout yet kept finding the line against the race shape. She’s talented and if the fav is off her game, she’s there to pick up the pieces.
6. Benagil: Got a peach from Mick Dee to win at Caulfield last time. But, she was fending off Athanatos, who I don’t think enjoys greeting the judge first, so I am not sure how strong that form is. I’m saying she is unders.
7. Verona Rose: Can’t really knock a filly that is 3/3 to start her career. She atacked the line with real purpose to win at Kembla…just not sure how strong that form is though and this is a big step up.
8. Canny Queen: Wide no cover at Kembla and a total forgive. The win at Gosford prior was good…but she’s not up to these.
9. Ella Hazel: Good maiden win at Gosford last time but this is different gravy. Pass.

This looks a very, very tricky map to my eye. Host of imports that could go forward if need be, or Aussie debut, do they go back. Vauban will likely settle off speed…Dubai Honour is drawn well, do they push forward? Land Legend can sit on speed, as can Duke De Sessa.
