A solid field has been assembled for the Toowoomba Cup (2000m) this Saturday with a near capacity field.

2025 Toowoomba Cup Runner Preview:
1. Encoder: He’s hard to beat if he brings his best. Just not sure after last start.
2. Kronenbourg: Good tough on speed win last start…but can’t have him at 2000m.
3. Caboche: Caboche is racing like a rise to 2000m suits. He ran over the mile at Doomben a fortnight back when ridden with intent to land near the speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through but was close up and far from disgraced in defeat behind Kronenbourg. Like him up in trip and strikes a winnable race.
4. Nikau Spur: Love him up in trip, clearly been set for this race after a freshen up…just think he may need a proper spell.
5. The Right Way: Campaign best for him this time in but last start behind Soul Of Spain suggests he’s tired.
6. Flash Aah: Like him up in trip but not sure he’s going well enough to beat these.
7. Age Of Kings: Ridden with intent at Doomben last start and battled away really well behind stablemate Soul Of Spain. Not sure he is good enough to beat these.
8. Kettle Hill: Kettle Hill is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at the Gold Coast when off speed and was held up at times but was good late in the piece. His best is good enough so I am not dismissing him.
9. Tapiledoodledo: Likely will go forward and run an honest race. Just can’t see him winning.
10. Queen Air: Queen Air looks like she has been set for the race and is the one with upside/timing to my eye. She ran two weeks ago at Doomben when off speed and did keep on chasing but was never really threatening behind Kronenbourg. Like her up in trip, strong late and stable would love to win this race.
11. Walsh Bay: False favourite IMO. Made a mess of them at the Gold Coast last Saturday but she did have things to suit and not entirely sure she beat a great deal. Tricky draw, 2000m…keen to oppose.
12. Just Flying: Brings the Soul Of Spain form, which clearly reads well. Just not sure at him running a strong 2000m.
13. Barazin: Trip should be fine but I just don’t think he has the class.
14. Toesonthenose: SCR
15. Victory Command (First Emergency): Is bred to be fine at the trip but his last start effort over the mile was plain. Not for me.
16. Lucky Exchange (Second Emergency): Outclassed.
17. Marenaro (Third Emergency): Not up to these.
18. Lupine (Fourth Emergency): Not troubling these.
19. Connecticut (Fifth Emergency): Not troubling these.
