Following a favourable barrier draw, Nature Strip has shortened from $5 to $4.20 and has reclaimed the tag of favourite for Saturday’s $15 million TAB Everest at Royal Randwick.
Nature Strip had been favourite for the TAB Everest since winning the TAB T.J. Smith Stakes at Randwick last April during The Championships until he finished fourth in the Premiere Stakes won by Libertini at Randwick on October 3.
Classique Legend – favourite before last night’s barrier draw – is now on the second line of betting for the TAB Everest at $4.40.
Gytrash ($5 to $6 since the barrier draw) and Libertini ($6 before the barrier draw; now $7.50) have both drifted due to the support for Nature Strip and Behemoth.
Behemoth tightened from $13 to $11 immediately after last night’s barrier draw and is now a $9.50 chance after one TAB punter placed a $7,700 each-way bet at $11/$3.50 for a potential collect of $111,650 if Behemoth is victorious in the TAB Everest.
