Punters have singled out the class runner in today’s Group One Randwick Guineas for three-year-olds heavily backing last years Cox Plate runner-up to beat the good quality field.
Castelvecchio who ran second to star Japanese mare Lys Gracieux has been singled out by punters as the horse to beat in the G1 Randwick Guineas after early favourite Super Seth was scratched from the race.
Castelvecchio opened at $8.00 in the market but with the deductions from Super Seth coming out and heavy support of money from punters this morning his price has almost been halved and is now at $4.40 in the market.
The Cox Plate runner-up caught the eye hitting the line strongly in the Hobartville Stakes which iss et to be the form race heading into today’s feature with a majority of the horses in the market coming out of the race and the extra distance here will suit hence the support.
Shadow Hero has been a slight drifter in the market after taking favouritism when Super Seth came out, he is $4.60 out to $4.80 this morning whilst Godolphins representative Microphone is also out a point.
There has been good support for both Warning and Brandenburg at bigger odds in what looks a relatively wide open race.
