Some of the better three year old fillies in Victoria stepped up in the Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) and in an on pace dominated affair, Merriest got the job done. Here are our Atlantic Jewel Stakes ratings.

Finished: 2nd
Summary: Crossed over to lead without burning and gave a really good kick, only to be nabbed late but she showed tremendous fight.

Finished: 10th
Summary: Three deep throughout and was hard ridden before the turn. Not quite sure where she goes, maybe a grade down?

Summary: Got back, had to come the widest on the turn and couldn’t really finish off. Forgive run I think, but D-Day next start.

5. Sweet Sherry:
Finished: 3rd
Summary: Got further back than expected, but she trucked up well on the turn and took a lot of ground off the front pair.

6. She’s Positive:
Finished: 13th
Summary: Being four wide no cover can’t help. Forget she went around.

Finished:
Summary: Got back and wide with cover before being put under pressure before the turn and faded out to finish near last. Disappointing.

Finished: 5th
Summary: Run of the race for me. Got back to last on the turn before eventually getting clear and attacking the line with real purpose.

10 Gretna:
Finished: 11th
Summary: She got back and wide with cover, came second widest on the turn and failed to finish off in a poor return.

11. Merriest:
Finished: 1st
Summary: Brilliant ride by Oliver got the filly home. Followed the runner up across and that pair dominated with the champion hoop lifting her home.

12. Inspired Estelle:
Summary: SCR
13. Athena Lass:
Finished: 4th
Summary: Had a nice sit off the speed. When the leaders sprinted she couldn’t go with them but whacked away pretty well for fourth.

14. Tan Tat Beauty:
Finished: 8th
Summary: Three back on the rail all the way, but was placed under pressure before the turn. Weak finish, disappointing.

15. Bettyrae Beauty:
Finished: 6th
Summary: This wasn’t a bad run from a maiden. Got back and saved ground near the inside before working home well in restricted room. Moral if she runs a maiden next start.

16. Piccadillies:
Finished: 7th
Summary: The hype horse had a nice sit off the speed but just lacked the turn of foot when they sprinted. Better for the experience
