One of the feature races at Caulfield this Saturday is the Quezette Stakes (1100m), where Natural Fling is the short priced favourite despite the field littered with quality fillies heading towards bigger races during the Spring.

1. Lara Antipova: I think she’s very good, but I am hard against her here. Just think she’s not here to play and might be better suited over a touch further.
2. Shiki: Had a very busy juvenile season and I don’t see her improving.
3. Rebel Tuesday: Plain return and looks up against it.
4. Ghana’s Akan: SCR
5. Natural Fling: Deserving favourite who was excellent in two runs. Jumped out super, lands on speed, she takes beating.
6. Divine Dot: SCR
7. Stars Of Dom: Likely be beaten for early speed but will be strong late and good lead that Williams sticks. In the mix.
8. Scintillation: Had the A1 run in transit and just got there to win at Randwick. Harder here and the end of 1100m is a query.
9. Satin Summer: Didn’t do a bad job fresh at Rosehill but think she is a tad limited.
10. Riverina Lulu: Really like Riverina Lulu. Pattern was in her corner on debut, but she let down like a good horse to win and her jumpout last week…gee they don’t go much easier in winning. She was jogging and very keen/confident she will measure up.
11. Almost An Angel: Think she has good ability and has jumped out well for the return but just not quite sure she has the quality.
12. Lady Catalina: Think she’s better suited at the midweeks.
13. Oh Yes She Did: Usually have to respect Peter Snowden when he brings them down…but I don’t think she measures up.
14. Portinari: Portinari is knocking on the door for Team Hayes after her second to Angels Fury several weeks ago here. Admittedly the winner had a harder run and was impressive, but this girl kept chasing and finding the line in defeat in a good effort. Commands respect.
15. Santa Barbara: Liked the debut run but needs to go to the Provincials for a kill.
16. Hearts Afar: SCR
17. Relinquishing (First Emergency): Looks outclassed.
18. Superbec (Second Emergency): Better suited at maiden level.
19. Flying Fury (Third Emergency): Narrow but strong win at Geelong but pass for me.
