Punters have honed in on a British galloper late in betting to win today’s G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes on Day 2 of The Championships at Randwick.
The William Haggas trained Addeybb has been heavily backed on race morning with the rain overnight steering punters away from former favourite Danon Premium which has see the UK backed into outright favouritism at $3.50 from $4.00 on offer this morning.
Addeybb could not have been more impressive in winning the G1 Ranvet Stakes at his Australian debut beating home Verry Elleegant who has gone on to frank the form and the money suggest he will make it two from two in Australia today.
Danon Premium remains well backed but has been easy late and is now out to $5.00 due to a little bit of doubt around the Japanese galloper on the current heavy track but he will be right in the market none the less.
Outside of the two favourites Te Akau Shark has been easy in the market and is $5.00 out to $6.00 whilst Verry Elleegant has been rock solid at $5.50 and remains by far the best backed runner of the locals.
Melody Belle has had good support at double figure odds with the rain hitting Sydney and is $13 into $9.00.
