He might have only won a benchmark race at Seymour, but punters are thinking a Matt Cumani trained galloper is the value in the Victoria Derby (2500m) this Saturday at Flemington.
Three year old Greycliffe showed great staying prowess to win over the staying trip last start on Seymour Cup Day. He gives the impression the 2500m will be ideal and the punters agree. He opened $14 Final Field and is now a $10 chance, with some nice each way bets rolling in.
Favourite for the race is Ace High but after originally firming, he is getting the wobbles at the top of betting, now at $6.00 after touching $4.60 at one stage. He holds the call over Tangled and Main Stage who are both at $7.00.
Astoria has been the other key firmer, into $9 from $15 off his strong effort in the Geelong Classic.
