Peter Snowden has been heavily backed to win the Sydney trainers premiership shortening from $2.80 to $2.50 this week as punters flocked to back him following a big weekend for Darley around the country.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said Snowden was the only one punters wanted to back as he closed the gap on premiership leader Chris Waller and his superior numbers would give him every chance of winning his first premiership.

“Punters have really come for Snowden after he trained four winners at Randwick on Saturday,†Sullivan said.
“We have taken a couple of four figure bets on Snowden but it is the sheer number of bets on him that has seen his price trim up from $2.80 to $2.50.
“Chris Waller is still the clear favourite at $1.72 as he has an eight win lead but he may not have the numbers, particularly with the two year olds, to be able to hold Snowden off as the season goes on.â€
Waller has drifted from $1.60 to $1.72 at Sportingbet this week despite also training a double on Saturday while Gai Waterhouse is the other contender at $4.40.
“I think it is probably a two horse race now as Gai is probably just too far off the pace but she will have a crack team for the autumn and can’t be written off completely,†Sullivan said.
