This looks one of the better overs for the entire weekend. I think a few missed his run at Ballarat on Cup Day there given he got a long way back in the run and made up really good ground against the bias behind Dollar For Dollar. He’ll love the rise to 2000m, he draws a soft gate, well weighted with the claim for McNeil. Great $34 prospect.
Rosehill Race One Number 4 Trekking ($2.60):
$2.60 looks an early Christmas present. I had him marked down clearly odds on after a high class trial here last week where he sat off them before presenting wide on the turn and he put them away in a couple of strides and ran sub 53 for the 900m, which is low flying at Rosehill, and keep in mind he had a heavyweight rider in Tye Angland. Of all the two year olds I’ve seen so far this season, he would be leading Golden Slipper contender. He’ll be winning this I think.
Eagle Farm Race Two Number 8 Dream Kisses ($5.00):
Sportsbet have asked the punters to decide who the favourite is, because they three $5 equal favourites. Should be one- this filly. My early pick in terms of the locals to win the Magic Millions because there is just so much upside with her and she has recorded IMO the best juvenile win in Queensland on the board this season. Tempo will suit, she’ll be strong late…$5 is a great price.
Morphettville Parks Race Five Number 12 Lockdown Jack ($51):
$13 does look an appealing price for a handy horse, who resumes here for David Jolly after a pretty solid Summer/Autumn, which ended with a closing second during the Oakbank Carnival. No trials leading in, but he has a touch of class and quality about him, he draws a soft gate and will relish a fast run race, which is what this will be.
