Flemington Race Seven Number 3 Tonopah ($23.00):
In a strong edition of the Chester Manifold I think this bloke represents really good value at around the $23 mark. Resumed in the Xmas Stakes on Boxing Day and worked home well late against the tempo. Looks well suited up to 1400m second up and will be better placed at Flemington compared to Caulfield I suspect.
Randwick Race One Number 5 Piracy ($4.00):
Well bred colt who is back after debuting in the Breeders Plate and being a flop behind Khan but keep in mind he pulled his head off in the run and into the strong headwind. Trials this time in have been sharp to the eye, and considering that the favourite, a first starter, is odds on, I think Piracy should be closer in the market.
Gold Coast Race Eight Number 2 Goodfella ($19.00):
If you’re looking for a roughie in the Magic Millions Classic, then this is your horse. Loved what he produced two back at Canterbury before going to the BJ McLachlan where he made up a stack of ground to run second to Ours To Keep. He’ll love a fast run 1200m here, draws to be out of trouble and you know he will be strong late.
Morphettville Parks Race One Number 9 Dawn Of Hope ($15.00):
She doesn’t have the most impressive strike rate going around, but gee I think she is huge overs in the opener. Closed off okay last start on the course proper behind On A Dream and looks suited up in trip down in the weights. I had her marked down single figures, nowhere near $15. Great value.
