There were some pretty impressive efforts the Cranbourne trials on Monday, including a Group l winning mare who is bound for Royal Ascot. Find out down below who caught our eye the most.

Warwick Farm- Friday, May 29, Weather Fine, Track Soft7.
Heat Two- Thousand Carat (3rd):
Handy local who hasn’t raced since January, but he looks to have returned in pretty good order based on this trial, where he sat off the speed before peeling out on the turn, and wasn’t pressured at any stage when running third, beaten less than two lengths. Impressive.
Heat Four- Decision Time (1st):
He didn’t beat much, but it was great to see the Golden Slipper runner up from a few years ago find some decent form, albeit in a trial. He sat behind the leaders before peeling out on the turn and letting down powerfully under a hold to win by a space, extending the margin with every stride.
Heat Five- Mirage (1st):
His bad manners cost him at Randwick, and he was ordered to trial. Under Josh Parr here, the horse was given a good hit out and ended up winning by seven lengths under some pressure, but he let down well and raced much more genuine.
Heat Six- Denman Dreaming (1st):
Unraced filly for Michael Costa, and she was just about the best of the morning. The daughter of Denman led all the way under Blake Shinn and the filly won under a big grip, and did it very comfortably.
Heat Thirteen- Well Hardley Ever (1st):
Well bred gelding for the old furn of Conners, Singo and Cassidy, and he looked very good in winning this trial. He sat midfield and wide throughout, but cruised to the front 200m out, and then Pumper gave him a little squeeze, and the horse responded brilliantly and drew clear late. Best of the morning.
