There were some pretty impressive efforts at the Caulfield jump outs on Tuesday, most notably from a former kiwi. Find out down below who caught our eye the most.

Caulfield- Tuesday, June 23, Weather Fine, Track Soft 5.
Heat One- Chabaud (2nd):
Unraced Robert Smerdon who looked impressive recently at the jump outs, and she has repeated the dose here. She jumped just fairly here, but mustered good speed to drive through and share the lead with a couple of other runners. She wasn’t placed under much pressure and went to the line nicely in running second. Keen to see where and when she debuts.
Heat Two- Peritus (2nd):
Unraced Peter Moody filly who trialled well in February, but was tipped out. Has come back and jumped out pretty well recently, and here also. She got away from the well gates to sit outside the speed and wasn’t asked for an effort at any stage. Looked pretty strong in running second.
Heat Seven- Niki Piki Milo (1st):
Former kiwi who won impressively in mid May at Te Rapa. Has since been transferred to the Smerdon yard, and she looks to have taken a liking to life down under based on this jump out where she jumped cleanly from the gates to lead, looking to travel well and going on to win narrowly, but under a good hold. She is a Stakes winner from her two year old days, so the talent is there. It’ll be interesting to see how she shapes up.
Heat Nine- Recalculate (1st):
Best of the morning by a distance. Handy three year old who last raced on May 30 at the Valley when running third. He looked very sharp in this particular jump out, getting away smartly from the gates to sit outside the speed before taking the lead 200m out and drawing clear to win and win impressively. He could pinch a city race for sure.
