The equine talent wasn’t that high at the Caulfield jump outs on Tuesday, but nonetheless there were some pretty impressive performances. Find out down below who caught our eye the most.
BLACK BOOK: Black Book these runners HERE and don’t miss their next run!
Caulfield- Tuesday April 14, Weather Fine, Track Soft 6.
Heat One- Thurlow (1st):
Two year old filly that hasn’t raced since running near last in the Blue Diamond behind Pride Of Dubai. Has been given a little break after that, and she looked impressive in this jump out. She doesn’t show gate speed on race day, but she has in trials and jump outs. Jumped well here to lead and although challenged, she held on to win under no pressure.
Heat Three- Liberty Rock (1st):
Talented gelding that hasn’t raced since July last year, but gee he was clearly the best of the morning here. Jumped brilliantly to lead, and just kicked away in the jump out to win under a hold, running the clear fastest time of the morning. He’ll be winning races this prep, maybe even a blacktype event if placed right.
Heat Four- Silk Slippers (4th):
Exciting mare for Peter Moody that is bred in the purple. Debuted in February at Hamilton and bolted in, winning by five. She looked very sharp in this jump out, sitting off the speed out wide, but was under a really good hold from the rider. I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t win a Stakes race.
Heat Five- Testability (3rd):
Exciting prospect for John Sadler that caught the attention of everyone with a stunning debut win at Kyneton. Given a break after that win, and she also looked quite impressive in this jump out, sitting third all the way and not being extended at any stage. She’ll be winning her fair share of races this time in.
