The third Group l at Rosehill this Saturday is the George Ryder Stakes (1500m), where the market says it is all about Autumn Glow.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2026 George Ryder Stakes.
2026 George Ryder Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Gringotts: Gringotts won this race last year…doubt he wins the 2026 edition but is an absolute must for exotics. He resumed in the Canterbury Stakes when back near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was quite good. Fitter and up in trip, can settle closer, he can run first four.
2. Pericles: Got an all time ride by Williams to win the Futurity, but the jury is very much out on how strong that form is. Tricky gate this time around, more depth, I am against him.
3. Evaporate: He’s not far off Angel Capital as the most overrated horse in Australia. Honest animal, tries hard, but when at the top level…he just doesn’t measure up.
4. Headley Grange: Sneaky good return in the Canterbury and will use this as a good tune up for the Doncaster.
5. Yorkshire: Didn’t do a bad job first up in the Canterbury and will be similar to Headley Grange.
6. Linebacker: Didn’t have the best of luck in the Canterbury and should have been right in the finish. His Grand Final is the Doncaster but could run first four at odds here.
7. Encap: Another that kept chasing in the Canterbury, but he’s sucked me in too many times to get fooled again.
8. Autumn Glow: It’s hard to get away from Baby Winx aka Autumn Glow. To the eye, just a win in the Verry Elleegant but when you break down the race shape, the sectionals, I thought she was unbelievable once again. Back to 1500m no issue, she loves her home track, the depth here, as a whole, isn’t deep…she wins again.
9. Lady Shenandoah: Lady Shenandoah was unbelievable in the Canterbury Stakes. Nash gave her a sore back and how she managed to attack the line like she did in defeat behind Joliestar and ran third…incredible effort. If that hasn’t busted her, surely she appeals against these.
10. Beiwacht: Tried his guts out on speed in the Canterbury, nabbed late by Joliestar. He’ll press forward, lead, give a sight…could pinch first four.
11. Attica: Screamed out of wanting 2000m en route to the Doncaster…so why are they running here? Clearing the way for Observer/Green Spaces maybe? This is a barrier trial.
12. Nepotism: He’s eligible for Class 3 races and that is where his level is.

2026 George Ryder Stakes Speed Map
Yorkshire and Beiwacht look your main 1-2, with the latter leading and rolling. I think Autumn Glow and Gringotts will jump well also and should land in behind. Linebacker and Evaporate won’t be far away, likewise Lady Shenandoah.
