Will there be argy bargy as they spring from the barriers? Both master and apprentice looking to establish good early spots.
Fortunately, or unfortunately from a viewers’ perspective, Fantini likes to settle so she will most likely ease back to about 4th spot on the rails allowing Ciao Uno, who does go quickly early, to cross her and also find the paint.
From then on, game on.
The Gibbons boys, Dad, highly polish and tremendously successful in the bush, sitting waiting, watching his young, highly gifted apprentice son’s every move and looking to counter punch when they turn.
It would be fitting if the guys fought it out and given the quality of horse underneath both of them, and the way the race should pan out, that looks a good bet.
