Despite being a first starter in a strong race, the Team Freedman trained Piccadillies has been one of the best backed runners for the meeting at Moonee Valley this Saturday where she debuts in the Cleanaway Plate (1200m).
The daughter of Uncle Mo, owned by Coolmore, looked sharp in a Flemington jump out last Friday and most would have assumed the stable would find an easy maiden kill. But no, they are sending her straight to Saturday grade in a race which is laced with blacktype form. But the punters are on, backing her into $4.80 after opening $7.50, which has made her the new favourite.
Zamzam was the opening favourite at $4.60 but she has been an alarming drifter, out to $5.50 from $4.60. Ariaz is pretty solid at $6.00 after opening $5.
