First starter heavily backed to beat Golden Slipper favourite

Golden Slipper favourite Tassort is unwanted in Silver Slipper betting

A runner having it’s first race start in today’s Group Two Silver Slipper Stakes at Rosehill has been heavily backed to beat the current $3.5m Golden Slipper favourite.

Faretti who is having his first start from the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott camp has been well backed throughout betting to beat the odds on Tassort who has continued to drift in markets.

Faretti opened at $5.50 but with the heavy support has been turned into $4.80 whilst odds on favourite Tassort is $1.70 out to $1.95.

Tassort is the current favourite for next months 2019 Golden Slipper although the market could change if he was to go down in today’s Silver Slipper and judging by the market thats a real possibility.

Faretti is a $2m yearling purchase who has won both of his trials but will be thrown into the deep end today when he faces a red hot 2YO field.
