Bookmaking figure Shaun Beirne launches Bet Legends

Bookmaking figure Shaun Beirne — nephew of former leading Sydney rails bookmaker Dominic Beirne — has officially launched his own online wagering platform.

Beirne, who previously worked within the trading team at Tabcorp as well as its short-lived corporate arm Luxbet, has unveiled Bet Legends, joining the growing list of more than 100 Australian online bookmakers.

Licensed in Victoria, Bet Legends aims to bring “a new edge back to traditional bookmaking,” according to Beirne. The operation utilises BetMakers’ backend trading technology along with its website and app infrastructure.

Beirne also has experience working with Betfair and has previously operated a tipping service.
