Thursday Results: $200 Loss
Last 10 Days: LLLLWWWWLW
Overall Results (Since June 7): $1306 Profit
Bet One- Win- Murwillumbah Race Four Number 12 Hayburner:
Looks the good thing of the day and anything over black figures is fine. Matty Dunn trains this colt, who debuted at Lismore where he was tardy away, settling near last in the small field. Looked to shove into the clear but by the time he did, the eventual winner had momentum and was off and gone. Just has to hold a decent spot from the gate and he should be winning.
Suggested Bet: $50 Win at $2.5 (BetEasy)
Bet Two- Win- Canberra Race One Number 2 Rosecraft:
It does look a good race for Rosecraft to break the maiden but I wouldn’t be declaring her a moral. Ran over this track/distance last time and to my eye, I thought she had her chance behind impressive winner I Stole Your Love, but a couple of key changes should help this filly. Firstly, Christian Reith steering helps, and the other positive is Winkers FT, hopefully that’ll sharpen her up.
Suggested Bet: $30 Win (Tote)
Bet Three- Each Way- Canberra Race Three Number 3 Supreme Polarity:
Most fascinating runner of the afternoon. Formerly with the Stokes team in SA but is now with Nick Olive. He was a proper city class horse when trained in SA but unfortunately form and inconsistency didn’t allow him to showcase the talent. Spoke to Billy Owen on Wednesday and he did say the horse would improve second/third up, but has certainly had enough work to win first up and that’s good enough for me.
Suggested Bet: $25 E/W (Tote)
Bet Four- Win- Ipswich Race Four Number 1 Mystic Eyes:
She’s had a stack of chances to break the maiden tag but I don’t think she gets a better chance than here. Three runs this time in, all in Queensland after formerly being based in Victoria. Has finished in the placings each start, the latest seeing her beaten a half length over this track/distance by My Delilah. Depth nowhere near as strong this time around, so she gets her chance.
Suggested Bet: $50 Win at $2.1 (Neds)
Bet Five- Each Way- Bendigo Race Two Number 11 Manasari:
Looks a really good program at the ‘Nursery Of Champions’. Going to give this Hayes/Dabernig first starter a chance. This girl trialled up really well on a number of occasions both last year and earlier this year. Spelled and has had two jump outs at Flemington to prepare for her debut, both times showing good speed and doing her work without being fully extended. Should have the speed to put herself on pace and with only 52kg, she’s likeable.
Bet: $10 E/W (Tote)
Suggested Total Spend: $200
