WA Guineas 2022 – Race Result, Finishing Positions, Replay and Horse Ratings

Amelia’s Jewel bounced back to her brilliant best at Ascot this Saturday, taking out the WA Guineas (1600m) and stamping herself as the one to beat in the Northerly in two weeks time.

2022 WA Guineas Race Horse Ratings

1. Amelia’s Jewel: Three wide cover for the trip and was keen but managed to get clear on the turn and she got better as the race went on. She’s the one to beat in the Northerly.

Rating: 10/10

2. Bustler: He had three wide cover as well and got a head start on the filly but just lacked the class to go with her late. Still a great effort for a horse so lightly raced and really in his first grade debut.

Rating: 9/10

3. Saintorio: Wide no cover early before eventually getting cover from All The Kings Men. He fought on courageously given he had the worst run of the first three home and was only beaten off late.

Rating: 8.5/10

4. All The King’s Men: Massive. Four wide early before eventually getting to the three wide line. No cover for the trip, he was brave in defeat behind the first three and IMO, he’s going to be a Derby horse in WA in the Autumn.

Rating: 8.5/10

5. Rejuva King: Got tight between runners and was one paced when immediately asked but fought on pretty well, albeit safely held. Back in trip for him.

Rating: 6/10

6. Swear To God: Had the suck run behind the speed and was hoping for something to drop off to get out. That didn’t pan out but that said, he had his chance and didn’t attack the line.

7. Catch These Hands: This could be a Derby horse too. Not suited by the race shape when back and wide but loved the way he closed off without threatening. He’s a nice horse for the future.

Rating: 6.5/10

8. Linden Lady: She was wide throughout and ran her race in patches. Looked gone on the turn but the last 100m or so, she picked up and wasn’t too bad to the line and through it. Nice filly, but I’d say next prep for her.

Rarting: 5/10

9. Sunny Honey: Another you can call a Derby horse for the Autumn. Gpt a mile out of his ground and was left flat footed when the sprint went on but really liked the way he found the line. Follow him in the Autumn.

Rating: 6/10

10. Snowdome: He didn’t run 1400m strongly last time so he was no chance to run the mile out here strongly enough and ran accordingly despite every chance on speed.

Rating: 2/10

11. Lord Gannicus: Was able to land box seat behind Demolish early but got shuffled back in the run. That said, he didn’t fire when asked for the effort.

Rating: 0/10

12. Demolish: Got a very soft lead and then box seat sit but when push came to shove on the turn, he folded and dropped out. Outclassed.

Rating: 0/10

13. Upper Limits: Got into a pretty decent spot, three back the fence on the back of stablemate Gravina. Got out in plenty of time but didn’t fire when asked and was disappointing, yet again.

Rating: 0/10

14. Santa Brae: Rank outsider, market said he had none and ran accordingly. He’s a midweek horse.
