2/4/2022 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm

Fitter and up to 2200m, I am in the corner of 2 Sayl (Bet Now: $3.10). He was off a break when racing over 1800m at the Gold Coast two weeks ago and was quite good from off the speed behind Humbolt Current. He’ll eat up the 2200m with the run under the belt and finds a very winnable race.

5 Savvy Oak (Bet Now: $5.00) is three weeks between runs for Rob Heathcoate since winning over 2400m here. Lovely ride I thought from Jaden Lloyd, who rides the Eagle Farm track as good as anyone. He put the horse into a lovely spot and timed his run perfectly. Back to 2200m no issue and now he has a win on the board, he can go on with it.

Couldn’t back 1 Haky (Bet Now: $20.00) to win but he’s one for multiples. His best would see him blow this away. Just hasn’t fired a shot since joining Matty Dunn. Given a mini freshen up and thought his tick over trial at Grafton was a good piece of work, so keen to see how he goes.

3 Hang Five (Bet Now: $1.60) looks the most obvious. O’Dea/Hoysted trained juvenile that ran over 1200m here last Wednesday where he looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted, with the patient hands of Billy Egan suiting this track perfectly. Off that, extra 200m looks ideal and stable is flying.

6 Boom Court (Bet Now: $3.80) ran second in the Hang Five race mentioned above. He was near the speed and tried hard, but was simply no match for the O’Dea/Hoysted youngster. Off that, he won’t be turning the tables, but given the lack of depth, he looks the clear second pick.

2 Cocobrew Express (Bet Now: $18.00) will land on speed and trying hard. Three weeks between runs since sitting on speed and proving too good to win over this track/distance. He was there to be run down but found under pressure and was too strong. More depth here, but his racing pattern is likeable.

13 Edmonton (Bet Now: $6.00) has more upside than most and the Waller polish. Ran over this track/distance last Wednesday where he took an eternity to wind into his work but was quite good late when fourth to Rations. I do think staying at the trip is a query, but he’ll be strong at the end.

11 Rations (Bet Now: $3.80) is a beauty for Barry Baldwin and has to be respected. Peach steer from Stewart saw him win last Wednesday here, getting the dream sit behind the speed and timing the run to perfection. More depth here, but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

1 Arctic Wolf (Bet Now: $31.00) has good upside to come and can be dangerous. He ran over the mile at Taree last time out and was good from the back against the race and track pattern behind a handy horse around that area, Mikado. Poorly weighted, bu upside and gate one should ensure him being around the mark at odds.

16 Dynamic Duo (Bet Now: $4.20) is knocking on the door to win one for Team Sears. Ran over this track/distance at the midweeks and worked home pretty well from off the speed when beaten narrowly by Lucifer’s Loot. Has a solid record at this track and stable is really firing at the moment.

14 Vaporizing (Bet Now: $4.00) is knocking on the door to win at Saturday metro level. Resumed three weeks ago at Eagle Farm where he was a notable drifter in betting and while he didn’t win, he ran a solid race in defeat behind dominant winner Osamu. Good second up record and has more upside than most.

1 Man In Motion (Bet Now: $41.00) is a son of Sequalo that resumes. He hasn’t raced since September 11 at Toowoomba when down the track in a strong 80, but was probably looking for the paddock then after a long and fruitful prep. Hasn’t trialled publicly but is a gun fresh horse and will give cheek on speed.

6 Dusty Tycoon (Bet Now: $8.50) is a talented mare for Rob Heathcoate that has been given a mini spell, having not raced since January 15 when a close up third here behind Fasano in a strong Class 6. I like her as a short course sprinter so back to 1000m I like and her recent trial was a good piece of work. Hard to beat.

1 Le Palmier (Bet Now: $4.40) should take beating here for Tony Gollan. Resumed over 900m at the Gold Coast two weeks ago and ran well behind the best 900m horse in Australia, Remlaps Gem. Good second up record, better suited at 1000m and better suited at Eagle Farm I’d suggest.

4 Winside (Bet Now: $6.50) should love getting back to 1000m. She shared the spoils with Go Wandji at Toowoomba two back before going to the Military Rose at the Gold Coast and she tried her guts out but couldn’t quite hold off She Can Sing. Back to 1000m, she’ll give a bold sight.

I do like 5 Star Of Michelin (Bet Now: $10.00) back to Eagle Farm. Peach front running steer from Maloney saw him win here two back. He then went to 1800m at the Gold Coast two weeks ago and that track just doesn’t suit him at all. He’s a big track horse so back here, he’ll take beating.

4 Sambro (Bet Now: $5.50) should appreciate the rise to the mile. Four weeks between runs for Chris Waller since racing over 1300m at Toowoomba where he got back in the run and did make up some headway, but was never a threat. I think the rise in trip suits and he does have class when right.

10 Hostage Of War (Bet Now: $16.00) will put himself on speed and run an honest race. He resumed at Chinchilla where he looked a good thing on paper and was ridden accordingly by Billie Rose Andrew, sending the tough nut to the front and giving nothing else a look in. Last bit will test, but he’ll give a sight.

1 Release The Beans (Bet Now: $6.00) looks ready to go. Rob Heathcoate trained three year old that is first up, having not raced since the Magic Millions Guineas when finding the class a bit rich behind King Of Sparta. He’s had two strong trials to get ready, he goes well fresh and saves his best for Eagle Farm. He’ll do me.

11 Rayjen (Bet Now: $14.00) is a quality filly for Rob Heathcoate that resumes. This girl hasn’t raced since November 20 when down the track over the mile at the Sunny Coast behind Caboche. She could be a sneaky Oaks contender, so I think whatever she does here, she will improve on, but she has quality.

12 Devastating (Bet Now: $17.00) is an Exceed And Excel for Tony Gollan that looks to have returned in good order. Resumed over 1000m here where he was near the speed and there to win but couldn’t quite get the job done when a narrow second to stablemate Zavaboom. Like him up to 1200m, fitter, he’ll take beating.

5 Kisukano (Bet Now: $2.40) is in with a shout. She resumed in the Military Rose and was an eye catcher from off the speed behind She Can Sing in an encouraging return. She’ll love the extra 100m and getting to a bigger track. Just doesn’t want to spot them too much head start.

I’ll take a chance in including 1 Royal Hale (Bet Now: $5.50), who resumes for Tony Gollan. He hasn’t raced since October 16 when an impressive winner at this track/distance in a race similar to this. Love horses that go out on a high because they generally come back in similar form and his trial suggests as much.

7 Pizonie (Bet Now: $20.00) has a good second up record and I think can be a big improver here. Resumed over 900m at the Gold Coast in what was more or less a dash for cash and he just couldn’t go with them behind Remlaps Gem. Fitter and up to 1200m, an improved showing is on the cards.

3 Starla (Bet Now: $10.00) should love the rise to 1400m. Race shape and track was against her two back in the Triscay when down the track behind Snapdancer. Freshened up and raced at Eagle Farm three weeks ago where I thought she was pretty good in defeat behind a quality horse in Contemptuous. Fitter and up to 1400m, she appeals.

8 Enterprise Prince (Bet Now: $5.00) should take beating here for Mick Lakey. Resumed over 1400m at Eagle Farm a few weeks ago where I thought he was given a peach by Brad Stewart. Was there to win when presented but couldn’t quite finish it off when second to handy mare Confessed. With natural improvement off that, he’ll be a leading contender.

Fitter and up in trip are two big ticks for 6 Guntantes (Bet Now: $19.00). He resumed three weeks back at Eagle Farm where they rode him quite positively, landing outside the speed, but that burn just told late when down the track behind Contemptuous. With a conservative steer, I think he’ll be more effective.

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 3 Starla
