Trainer Daniel Bowman is set to raise the bar with his exciting filly Capriccio with the Adelaide carnival the likely target.
Bowman was bullish about his lightly raced fillies chances in the $500k Inglis Dash on Saturday despite the market not liking her chances and she proved her trainer right scoring a good win against quality opposition at just her fourth start.
“The plan was to head to Adelaide for the Redelva Stakes and maybe the Euclase Stakes but we might have to recalibrate and have closer look at the calendar and maybe raise the bar,” Bowman told RSN on Sunday morning.
“It is really hard to know off those restricted races but Bella Nipotina and The Bopper had good form coming in and we beat them who knows, I reckon we have a crack at some black-type going forward now.”
Capriccio who was sent out at big odds of $16 with Sportsbet came clear in the concluding stages of the rich Inglis Dash to score a relatively dominant win over her rivals.
“I thought she was a ridiculous price having only had three starts,” professed Bowman.
“The yard watchers might have found her which is many why she was $91 into $41 late.
“I thought she could run a nice fourth or fifth.
“Being first-up might have been a tough assignment but she copped a ten out of ten ride from Damian (Lane) and she was just too good for them.
“She went to town last prep and just wasn’t ready for it so six months is a long time in racing for her to mature and improve.”
